International Concepts currently seeks a part-time custodian to work in the Birmingham area. Flexible days and/or nights and every other weekend. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring our environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors and staff. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies.
- Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Maintain floor care by buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors to ensure a professional appearance.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks when necessary, including high dusting or specialized cleaning procedures.
- Support facilities maintenance activities by reporting repairs needed for fixtures, lighting, or equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and stored safely according to safety guidelines.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and promote a secure environment.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, including floor care such as buffing and waxing.
- Experience with industrial cleaning processes is a plus.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
