Duties
- Prepare a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies using equipment like espresso machines and blenders.
- Assemble fresh sandwiches and snacks according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems (Toast and Square) to process sales accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change while maintaining accuracy in cash handling and math calculations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment by following food safety standards and cleaning protocols.
- Provide friendly customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Follow food safety guidelines during food preparation and handling to ensure quality and compliance with health regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with beverage preparation techniques, especially coffee brewing and drink service.
- Strong cash handling skills with experience processing retail sales transactions using POS systems like Aloha or Micros preferred.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods while maintaining high standards of service.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash register operation and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
