Duties
- Operate commercial laundry machines including tunnel washers, stackable dryers, conveyor dryers, and garment care machines while adhering to safety procedures.
- Manage laundry processes such as washing, bleaching, stain removal (including baking soda, hot water, cold water, and mechanical stain removal), drying, pressing, and folding garments with precision.
- Use labeling systems to ensure proper identification and tracking of each item throughout the laundry cycle.
- Perform laundry steam cleaning and dry cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of garment cleanliness and presentation.
- Maintain inventory by tracking supplies such as detergents, bleach, stain removers, and other laundry chemicals; restock as needed.
- Operate barrier washers and cleaning equipment safely while following all machine operation safety protocols.
- Assist with customer service tasks including cashiering and responding to client inquiries about garment care or service status.
- Push carts efficiently to transport laundry loads across the facility while keeping the workspace organized and clutter-free.
- Utilize laundry folding machines and ironing stations to deliver crisp, professional finishes on garments.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial laundry or hotel housekeeping is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of fabric care techniques including stain removal methods (baking soda, bleach washing, steam cleaning).
- Familiarity with machine operation safety procedures for industrial washers/dryers and pressing equipment.
- Ability to operate tunnel washers, barrier washers, conveyor dryers, and other specialized laundry machinery confidently.
- Strong organizational skills for inventory tracking and maintaining an orderly workspace.
- Customer service experience is a plus for assisting clients with their garment needs effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor machine issues is advantageous but not required.
