Position Summary
The Event Sales & Operations Coordinator is responsible for growing and managing Grimm Brothers Taproom & Kitchen's private events and hosted event programming. This role combines business development, event sales, client relations, planning, and event execution to ensure every event reflects the Grimm Brothers experience.
When events are not actively being planned or executed, the coordinator is expected to proactively pursue new business opportunities through networking, relationship building, community engagement, and direct outreach.
Hours
- Position is expected to average 10–25 hours per week.
- A minimum of 10 hours per week is expected.
- Hours exceeding 25 hours per week require prior approval from management.
- Work schedules will fluctuate based on event activity.
When event activity is light, scheduled hours should be dedicated to business development, networking, prospecting, venue tours, relationship building, and other efforts that generate future event bookings.
Primary ResponsibilitiesEvent Sales & Business Development
- Actively network within the community to generate new event opportunities.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders.
- Respond promptly to event inquiries.
- Conduct venue tours with prospective clients.
- Prepare proposals and event estimates.
- Secure signed contracts and collect required deposits.
- Maintain relationships with past clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Represent Grimm Brothers at networking events, community functions, and industry events as approved.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for booked events.
- Coordinate catering, bar service, entertainment, rentals, vendors, and other event logistics.
- Develop event timelines and oversee execution from start to finish.
- Communicate event details with management and staff.
- Ensure all event needs are finalized prior to execution.
Event Operations
- Oversee event setup and room preparation.
- Manage event execution during scheduled events.
- Coordinate event breakdown and cleanup.
- Maintain organization and upkeep of event storage areas, décor, inventory, and supplies.
- Coordinate routine cleaning and readiness of event spaces before and after events.
Staff Leadership
- Coordinate and direct bartenders, catering staff, and event support personnel during events.
- Communicate staffing needs with management.
- Ensure staff understand event timelines and client expectations.
- Provide onsite leadership to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Compensation & Incentives
- Hourly Rate: $25–30/hour
- Minimum expected schedule: 10 hours per week
- Maximum regular schedule: 25 hours per week
- Additional hours require management approval.
Commission
To encourage business development, the Event Sales & Operations Coordinator will receive:
- 5% commission on paid venue rental revenue for new private events personally sourced and booked by the coordinator.
- Management may approve additional incentives for strategic partnerships or major event opportunities.
Commission applies only to new business generated directly by the coordinator and does not apply to existing recurring clients, owner-generated leads, website inquiries, or referrals unless otherwise approved by management.
