The Medical Coder will evaluate medical records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the International Classification of Diseases Manual - Clinical Modification, and the American Medical Associations Current Procedural Terminology Manual.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Evaluates medical record documentation and coding to optimize reimbursement

Interprets medical information such as diseases or symptoms and diagnostic descriptions and procedures

Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding guidelines; medical terminology; anatomy and physiology

Ability to read and interpret medical procedures and terminology
-
Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Two years' experience in medical record coding preferred

Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the necessary skills; and ability to obtain necessary certificates
