The Warehouse Clerk Lead at dnata Catering plays a key frontline leadership role within warehouse operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact for Warehouse Clerks during assigned shifts and supports the Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing daily inventory, receiving, storage, and distribution activities. The Warehouse Clerk Lead performs all core warehouse functions while providing hands-on guidance, coordinating workflow, reinforcing safety and food compliance standards, and ensuring operational efficiency. This role helps maintain accurate inventory control, proper stock rotation, and timely order fulfillment to support dnata Catering’s on-time performance and operational excellence. This is a working lead position actively engaged in daily warehouse tasks while providing direction and support to team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
- Perform all Warehouse Clerk responsibilities including receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing products, equipment, and supplies
- Monitor inbound flights and ensure storage equipment and assigned cages are properly secured
- Monitor and secure duty-free goods
- Move stock on flat surfaces and inclined ramps using hand trucks, lifts, and pallet movers
- Restock, move, and rotate inventory within all storage areas (FIFO compliance)
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas daily, including spill and breakage cleanup
- Break down refuse containers for proper disposal
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and company standards
- Perform duties safely to prevent injury to self and others
Lead Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day direction and workflow coordination for Warehouse Clerks during assigned shift
- Serve as the first point of contact for operational questions and issue resolution
- Support the Warehouse Supervisor with shift assignments and task delegation
- Monitor productivity and accuracy standards, reinforcing expectations in real time
- Train and onboard new warehouse employees on processes, safety, and compliance requirements
- Ensure team adherence to safety, security, and food handling procedures
- Escalate operational issues, inventory discrepancies, or performance concerns to Supervisor
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies
- Model professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience
- Prior experience in a lead or team support role preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- Forklift certification preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
