We are seeking an experienced Project Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Project Engineering Department while driving operational excellence across multiple commercial and industrial painting projects. This leadership role is responsible for managing project engineering personnel, developing and improving processes, coordinating cross-functional project activities, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently from preconstruction through closeout.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with proven management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to create structure, accountability, and consistency in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Build team capabilities through training, process development, and professional growth opportunities.
- Serve as a key liaison between project management, field operations, estimating, accounting, and executive leadership.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve project engineering and operational processes.
- Standardize workflows, documentation practices, reporting systems, and project controls.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency, communication, and project outcomes.
- Drive adoption of best practices and ensure consistency across all projects.
Project Coordination & Execution
- Oversee project engineering activities including submittals, RFIs, document control, scheduling support, procurement coordination, and project closeout documentation.
- Ensure project teams have the resources, information, and support necessary to meet project objectives.
- Coordinate activities between field operations, project managers, clients, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact schedule, budget, or quality.
Planning & Performance Management
- Develop operational metrics and reporting tools to track team performance and project execution.
- Monitor departmental workload and allocate resources effectively across projects.
- Participate in project planning meetings and operational reviews.
- Management performance, developmental growth, accountability, and efficiency.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate clear communication between departments and Project Management team.
- Ensure timely and accurate flow of project information.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Represent the company professionally while promoting a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
