POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Reports to: Dealer Group Fixed Ops Manager / Dealer Group General Manager.
Position Overview:
On a daily, monthly, and yearly basis he/she will ensure that the service department and its staff are operating efficiently and in a profitable manner.
Essential Duties:
- Determine and communicate monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of gross profits, objectives and departmental profit
- Effectively Manage Shop Workflow.
- Handle all Shop payroll / auditing.
- Forecast monthly objectives in terms of the number and type of Customer RO's, time utilization, prospecting efforts, sales, and projected income.
- Train staff in best practices in selling service, customer satisfaction, and brand awareness.
- Conduct staff meetings.
- Monitor Service Writers efforts and effectiveness.
- Manage loaner vehicle inventory both online and on lot.
- Monitors Dealership adherence to manufacturer standards.
- Ensure that every Customer is thanked personally.
- Monitor all systems utilization in support of measurement and tracking of service departments numbers.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions. Minimum of five years of service management experience. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. Verifiable references for management skills.
Working Conditions:
The Service Manager works both indoors and out, moving throughout the Dealership facility and vehicle displays to communicate with the Dealer, fellow Managers, Service Consultants, and Customers. Weekends, evenings, and occasional holiday hours may be required and are market driven. Must be able to physically operate a vehicle as shipped by the manufacturer in a safe manner as required by inventory management responsibilities.
Our dealer group now consists of thirteen automotive manufacturers, an in-house Reconditioning Center, an in-house Auto Glass company, and a full service USAA and State Farm Insurance-approved Collision Repair Center.
