Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead and oversee asphalt paving projects from start to finish. This role is vital in ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Asphalt Foreman will coordinate crews, manage schedules, review technical drawings, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Duties
- Supervise asphalt paving crew, managing daily operations to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Coordinate construction schedules to optimize workflow and resource allocation
- Review construction drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate execution of paving activities
- Enforce OSHA safety regulations and federal construction safety standards across all job sites
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and oversee procurement of materials using construction management software
- Conduct quality control inspections, including blueprint reading and construction drawing review, to verify work accuracy
- Oversee crew management, including supervising team members, managing labor productivity, and ensuring proper crew management practices
- Collaborate with project managers on contract adherence, change orders, and project scheduling adjustments
- Utilize tools such as Ohmmeter for quality testing of materials and ensure proper use of construction safety equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial and residential asphalt paving projects
- Strong knowledge of construction management
- Extensive construction site experience with a focus on asphalt paving, including interpreting technical drawings and managing construction schedules
- Familiarity with OSHA standards, federal construction safety regulations, and construction safety management practices
- Ability to read blueprints, review construction drawings, and interpret technical specifications accurately
- Demonstrated skills in project scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and managing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Supervisory experience supervising crews on large-scale projects with excellent managerial communication skills preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of construction regulations related to commercial projects and pipeline work where applicable
