SENIOR CNC MILL OPERATOR — DAEWOO — DAY SHIFT
Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, to be discussed during the interview.
ELSNER Engineering is hiring an experienced CNC Mill Operator to set up and operate Daewoo CNC milling equipment. We are looking for a capable machinist—not simply a machine tender—who understands setups, tooling, offsets, inspection, and the decisions required to produce quality parts.
Candidates may be considered for either first or second shift. This position is ideal for a machinist who works well independently, solves problems at the machine, and takes ownership of quality and productivity.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate Daewoo CNC milling equipment
- Review prints, job instructions, and specifications before beginning work
- Select and install appropriate tooling and workholding
- Establish work offsets and verify machine setup
- Determine or adjust speeds and feeds based on material, tooling, and cutting conditions
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Make tool-offset and program adjustments when necessary
- Monitor tool wear and replace tooling before quality is affected
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, finish, dimensional, and production issues
- Produce close-tolerance parts that meet print and quality requirements
- Document production and inspection results accurately
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and professional work area
What We’re Looking For
- Substantial CNC milling experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Experience independently setting up CNC mills
- Daewoo or similar CNC machining-center experience
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints
- Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement
- Strong shop-math and machining-fundamentals knowledge
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and related inspection equipment
- Understanding of cutting tools, workholding, speeds, and feeds
- Ability to make offsets and safely edit programs at the machine
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Dependability and a commitment to producing quality work
- CNC programming experience is a plus
