About Ignite Sports Performance
Ignite Sports Performance is a growing sports performance facility located inside the Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, NJ.
We specialize in strength, speed, agility, athletic development, and sport-specific performance training for youth, middle school, high school, and college athletes and Adult fitness.
Our mission is simple: help athletes become stronger, faster, more confident, and better prepared for the next level.
We are looking for a motivated, energetic, dependable Sports Performance Coach / Personal Trainer to join our team for the upcoming fall season.
This is a great opportunity for a coach, former athlete, personal trainer, strength coach, teacher, or college student studying exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field who wants to gain hands-on coaching experience.
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Evening availability is required
- Typical hours are 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Start date: August/September 2026
- Consistent weekly hours available
- Additional hours may become available based on performance and facility needs
- Weekend availability is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Lead athlete-focused strength and conditioning sessions
- Create an Adult fitness program
- Coach small groups and individual athletes
- Demonstrate proper exercise technique and movement patterns
- Teach speed, agility, strength, conditioning, mobility, and athletic development
- Modify exercises based on an athlete's age, ability, and experience
- Motivate athletes and create a positive, high-energy training environment
- Build relationships with athletes and families
- Follow Ignite's programming and coaching standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized training environment
- Arrive prepared and on time for every scheduled session
- Assist with athlete assessments, testing, clinics, and special events when needed
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and other Ignite staff

Previous coaching or training experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
QualificationsPreferred
- Previous experience in strength & conditioning, personal training, coaching, athletics, or group fitness
- Personal training or strength & conditioning certification
- CPR/AED certification
- Experience working with youth athletes
- College coursework or degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sport Science, or a related field
- Collegiate or competitive athletic experience

- Ability to safely demonstrate and teach basic exercises and movements
- Willingness to learn and follow Ignite's coaching system
CPR/AED and professional certifications are preferred. The right candidate without a certification may still be considered based on coaching experience, education, and athletic background.
