Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Maintenance Manager for Port Operations who will lead and oversee all maintenance activities related to port facilities and equipment. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems within our port environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintenance management.
Responsibilities
· Lead port maintenance team in safety, and lead by example toward preventing all injuries and accidents.
· Directs all workers engaged in maintaining, servicing and repairing mechanical equipment.
· Inspects completed work for conformity to blueprints, specifications and other necessary standards.
· Oversees maintenance and inventories of equipment and tools and the safety and operation of vehicles and equipment.
· In case of accidents or other emergency situations, may need to perform particular maintenance tasks or drive maintenance vehicles. May occasionally perform the duties of subordinates in emergency situations, including accessing various mobile equipment or other difficult-to-access equipment during an emergency situation.
· Prepares documentation, including forms and various reports, as necessary.
· Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies. Submits requests for new or replacement parts, equipment, tools, vehicles and related items. Approves sending equipment and vehicles out for specialized repair.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) with additional supervisory or management courses. Three to five years’ experience as maintenance supervisor required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· Knowledge of the proper operation and routine maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles.
· Knowledge of the proper use of tools and equipment used in facilities, equipment and maintenance. Knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools.
· Be able to drive a company-supplied manual transmission vehicle for all port access locations, and maintain both an updated US driver’s licenses in the state in which you live, and maintain current port driving privilege and license with a current passed defensive driving course.
· Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions. Ability to translate complex instructions into simpler instructions for subordinates as necessary. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees, and subordinates.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold (non-weather). Some exposure to possible injury and low to moderate exposure to fumes, vapors, grease, oil, dust, etc. Must follow all safety requirements carefully. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high due to the use of equipment and the running of vehicle engines, so hearing protection is a must for most locations in the port.

· Physical activities such as climbing stairs or ladders, walking across uneven terrain, stepping across equipment at demanding angles, crawling under equipment to reach inspection points, use of ladders to climb into limited-space access hatches, and other challenging terrains or limited space equipment.
