Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for full operational, financial, and sales performance of their assigned branch. This role combines operational leadership with direct accountability for revenue growth, sales execution, and strategic partnership development within the market.
The General Manager ensures operational cohesion, leads a high-performing team, and drives consistent implementation of Protect Environmental’s Residential Sales Playbook. This position requires a strategic, people-centered approach to managing operations, developing talent, and expanding market presence.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
The General Manager oversees all day-to-day operational functions to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.
- Manages performance of operational teams to ensure services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and within budget.
- Reviews productivity and allocates resources appropriately.
- Monitors service line growth and recommends strategies based on operational data and market trends.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees equipment, vehicle, and facility maintenance.
- Leads long-range planning, budget management, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintains oversight of team training and development plans in partnership with national support teams.
- Promotes a safe work environment and participates in safety initiatives.
Sales Leadership & Team Development
The General Manager serves as the primary sales leader for the branch, responsible for developing sales capability across all customer-facing roles.
- Trains and mentors Technicians, Project Coordinators, and Estimators in consultative sales methodology.
- Reinforces and ensures consistent execution of the Residential Sales Playbook.
- Conducts field-level coaching, including ride-alongs when needed.
- Models effective sales behaviors, objection handling, and closing techniques.
- Establishes clear sales expectations and fosters a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and revenue discipline.
- Ensures alignment between operations and sales to support a seamless customer experience.
Sales Performance & Market Growth
The General Manager is accountable for predictable revenue growth through disciplined sales management and strategic market engagement.
Sales Performance Management
- Monitors leading indicators such as outreach cadence, follow-up compliance, answer rates, and speed-to-lead.
- Tracks lagging indicators including conversion rate, revenue per answered call, close rate, and gross margin.
- Identifies performance gaps and implements corrective actions.
- Ensures consistent adoption of sales systems, processes, and follow-up standards.
Market Growth & Partnerships
- Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with real estate professionals, builders, inspectors, mortgage/title companies, and complementary service providers.
- Initiates new partnership opportunities and strengthens existing referral relationships.
- Attends partner meetings, industry events, and supports lunch-and-learns or rollout meetings.
- Represents Protect Environmental as the face of the local market and upholds brand standards.
Playbook Execution & Market Discipline
The General Manager ensures full adoption and consistent execution of the Residential Sales Playbook.
- Enforces outreach cadence and structured follow-up systems
- Drives referral strategy execution
- Ensures sales discipline across all roles
- Maintains accountability for playbook standards
People Leadership
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains branch staff.
- Oversees daily workflow and ensures team alignment.
- Provides timely, constructive performance evaluations.
- Manages discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy.
- Supports professional development and talent management in partnership with national support teams.
Required Skills/Abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work occurs in both office and field environments
- Requires walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, etc.)
Travel Required
- Travel as needed for branch operations, partnership development, and corporate meetings.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience
- NRPP certification (RMP and/or RMS) or ability to obtain within required timeline
- Minimum five years of operations management and supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in operations coordination, facilities management, and budget management
