We are seeking experienced Meat Processing & Harvest Production Associates to join our growing production team. This position plays a critical role in livestock harvest, carcass fabrication, meat cutting, and food production while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and workplace safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in meat processing, slaughter, harvest, butchering, fabrication, meat cutting, food production, or manufacturing who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Livestock Harvest
- Safely unload, handle, and move livestock throughout the harvest process.
- Perform humane livestock harvest and carcass dressing procedures.
- Assist with animal, carcass, and product identification to maintain inventory accuracy and product traceability.
- Follow USDA regulations for ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections.
- Maintain sanitation standards throughout all harvest operations.
Meat Processing & Fabrication
- Cut, trim, skin, debone, and fabricate carcasses into wholesale and retail meat cuts.
- Operate knives, hooks, hand saws, band saws, and other meat processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare products for packaging, storage, and further processing.
- Produce value-added meat products according to production specifications.
- Maintain product quality while meeting daily production goals.
Production & Facility Operations
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and production readiness.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Defense, USDA regulations, and food safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment by following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Support inventory accuracy and proper product handling throughout the production process.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding manufacturing position requiring employees to:
- Stand and walk for the entire shift.
- Perform repetitive lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping.
- Use repetitive hand motions while operating knives and production equipment.
- Work in cold, wet, humid, or warm environments.
- Safely work around moving machinery while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work overtime and extended hours as production demands require.
- New employees may require 5–6 weeks to fully adjust to the physical demands of the position.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to safely use knives and meat processing equipment (training available for qualified candidates).
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures and production environments.
- Ability to complete required GMP and Food Defense training.
Preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in meat processing, livestock harvest, fabrication, butchering, or food manufacturing.
- Previous experience using knives, hooks, hand saws, or band saws.
- Experience in USDA-inspected processing facilities.
- Prior production or manufacturing experience.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.
