SouthTech Schools is seeking a creative, innovative, and student-centered Middle School Multimedia Instructor to inspire students through digital media, technology, and creative design. The instructor will provide engaging, hands-on instruction in multimedia production, including graphic design, video production, photography, digital storytelling, animation, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, technical skills, collaboration, and career readiness while creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging multimedia curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives.
- Teach students the fundamentals of digital media production, including graphic design, photography, video editing, animation, and web-based content creation.
- Integrate industry-standard software and technology into classroom instruction.
- Guide students in creating multimedia projects that demonstrate creativity, technical proficiency, and critical thinking.
- Maintain and manage multimedia equipment, computer labs, cameras, and related technology.
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments and projects.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on school-wide media projects and events.
- Encourage student participation in competitions, showcases, and career exploration opportunities.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Multimedia, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Communications, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with middle school students preferred.
- Knowledge of multimedia software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, video editing software, and digital content creation tools.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
- Industry certifications in multimedia, digital design, or related fields are a plus.
