Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, safety-oriented Carpenter to join our field operations team. In this role, you will execute rough and finish carpentry across diverse commercial construction projects—including office tenant improvements, retail spaces, public works, and facility modernizations. The ideal candidate brings strong blueprint literacy, expertise in metal stud framing and acoustical systems, and a high standard of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural & Rough Carpentry: Erect structural and interior light-gauge metal stud framing, structural steel components, and exterior sheathings according to architectural specifications.
- Finish Carpentry & Millwork: Install high-end architectural woodwork, custom cabinetry, trim, doors, frames, hardware, and specialized wall panel systems.
- Ceiling & Specialty Installation: Assemble lay-in suspended grid systems, acoustical ceiling tiles (ACT), dry-hung ceilings, and specialized architectural features.
- Layout & Assembly: Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and structural details to perform precise layout work using laser levels, plumb bobs, and measuring equipment.
- Drywall & Framing Prep: Hang gypsum wallboard, perform basic taped joints where required, and ensure assemblies meet fire-rated and STC (sound transmission class) requirements.
- Site Preparation & Concrete Formwork: Construct footings, edge forms, bulkheads, and temporary shoring or barricades as needed for jobsite safety and site development.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to OSHA guidelines, company safety policies, PPE standards, and daily site cleanliness protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate daily task execution with Subcontractors, Project Superintendents, and Trade Leads to maintain project schedule and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial rough and finish carpentry.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in reading blueprints, structural schedules, and architectural details.
- Equipment Mastery: Proficient with commercial hand/power tools, powder-actuated tools, laser levels, chop saws, and specialized fasteners.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred).
- Powder-actuated tool certification (Hilti/Ramset) preferred.
- Aerial Lift / Scissor Lift Operator certification preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal hand tool set required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday), with occasional overtime, weekend work, or night shifts depending on project requirements.
- Environment: Commercial job sites, including active renovation environments, cold-shell structures, and outdoor construction sites subject to varying weather conditions.
Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
