Candidates must be available to work the full 2 week flag football program M-F June 8-18th.
Flag Football Coaching Staff are active, energetic, creative, and caring, and enjoys working with children in a team atmosphere with other coaches and staff. Flag Football Coaches lead and actively engage in a safe, organized, meaningful, enriching, and fun flag football program for groups of campers primarily ages 6-13. The program should focus on skills for Flag Football, athletics and for life, such as teamwork, healthy competition, being active and healthy, and having fun.
Additional working weeks and hours in the summer can be contracted. This is a seasonal position. The wage range for this position is $17.25 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and Skills:

Training/certification and/or experience in the sport.

Demonstrated experience playing and coaching the sport and/or working with and leading children preferably in the sport.

Desire and ability to supervise, lead, and positively manage campers and work with other staff in a cooperative, team-oriented camp atmosphere.

Knowledge and skills in the sport and the ability to teach these skills to campers and staff.

Strong communication skills.

Possess excellent character, integrity, adaptability, patience, self-control, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Pass a MA State run background check including a CORI and SORI.
Responsibilities:

Formulate, plan, and lead age appropriate, safe, and enriching activities in the sport.

Follow and uphold all policies and philosophies of Fessenden Summer Camps.

Follow and uphold all state and local health and safety regulations and guidelines and those set by the Camp.

Teach and guide campers, in participating successfully and appropriately in all aspects of the sport and related activities, including proper and safe use of equipment.

Conduct initial, in-season, and end-of-season inventories, assuring appropriate supplies for activity and storage of the supplies.

Conduct and ensure regular cleaning and checks of spaces and equipment are being performed by group staff according to health and safety protocols.

Participate in and assist in running camp events and initiatives.

Communicate regularly with the direct supervisor regarding concerns, updates, challenges, and successes.

Communicate with parents about their child when necessary and appropriate.

Set a good example for campers and coworkers in all areas, including but not limited to health and safety, accountability, fairness, organization, punctuality, following the rules, and sportsmanship.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and Director.
Job Requirements

Available 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday – Friday for the entire program season and to attend all staff training sessions before and during program season.

Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate health and safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.

Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.

Frequent talking, listening, walking, sitting, and standing.

At least some high activity which may include dancing, running, swimming, and jumping (amount varies by sport).

Possess the visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activity.

Be able to lead and fully participate in the sport.
