Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and intake evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes, including crisis management and behavior management techniques.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and medical records requirements, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions, maintaining high-quality patient care while adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, medical terminology entries, and treatment outcomes within EMR/EHR systems; ensure all documentation meets HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure an Associate Professional Counselor.
- Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities; familiarity with pediatrics and special education is preferred.
- Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and art or dance therapy is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards required for medical records management.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care (including PTSD care), and behavior management.
- Experience working in outpatient or inpatient settings; familiarity with hospital experience or clinic environments is a plus.
- Ability to utilize telehealth technology effectively; experience with EMR/EHR systems is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and case management; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams is vital.
