Fast growing Northridge, CA based AS9100 Certified Aerospace Defense Company/Machine Shop is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, well rounded, and consistent Janitor/General Laborer/Driver to support our growing team.
The ideal candidate for this position will maintain/clean 2 buildings with a combination of shops and office space, deliver and pick up materials, and assist in several tasks(shipping/manufacturing/assembly), when necessary. This is an entry-level position that could lead career growth based on applicants attitude, ability to learn, and work ethic. You will be replacing and trained by our current Janitor/General Laborer/Driver, who is being promoted to a Machine Operator position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Clean common areas
- Keeps premises of the buildings clean orderly, will clean hallways, lobbies, lunch rooms, offices, shops, restrooms and other work areas
- Floor care: cleans, sweeps, mops all floors, operates floor cleaning machine
- Surface care: dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning
- Waste Removal: empty trash throughout the building: bathroom, shops, offices, and other areas
- Hallways and Entryway: Sweep and/or mop; wipe off tables; dust horizontal surfaces; wash windows
- Bathrooms: Sweep and mop; clean tile walls and floors; clean toilets, toilet seats and urinals; empty trash bin and replace liner; wash shower stall doors; clean mirrors; clean windows and sills; stock toilet stalls toilet paper dispensers.
- General: Empty trash throughout the building. Sweep and clean paper and debris from exterior areas around perimeter of community.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
- Preventative building maintenance (painting, deep cleaning, degreasing).
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary
- Driving(deliveries and pick up's)
- Assist other departments when necessary(shipping, assembly, and manufacturing).
- Must be able to stand, sit, reach, grasp, squat, and bend for extended periods of time; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a daily basis
- Approximately 20-25 hours of non-janitorial work in a 40 hour work week.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- A high degree of ownership and accountability with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Maintain the company’s standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service and good employee and community relations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid in-state driver's license with clean driving record.
- 2 years of manufacturing/machine shop experience preferred.
- Must be willing to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
- Have the ability to use manual fine motor skills or similar hands-on work
- Experience with mechanical hand tools.

- Ability to communicate effectively (written/orally)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work with hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, or crouch on a regular basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
- Ability to work near large fast moving equipment
