Salary: $75,000 — $90,000 base + performance bonus | PTO, Vehicle, BPI Certification Provided

Always On HVAC is a rapidly growing residential HVAC company specializing in electric heat pump and mini-split system installations across NYC and Long Island. We partner with Con Edison, PSEG, and NYSERDA to deliver rebate-backed clean energy upgrades to homeowners. Our teams complete high-volume, quality installs with a focus on craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and speed.
We are building our next W2 installation crew and looking for a motivated, experienced Crew Lead to anchor it. This is a ground-floor opportunity to grow into a senior field leadership role as we expand to multiple crews.
The Role
As Crew Lead, you will run a 4-person installation team responsible for completing mini-split/heat pump installations from start to finish in a single day. A typical job involves 2 condensers and 5 indoor heads. You are the person on-site who makes the job go — managing your crew, communicating with the homeowner, and delivering a clean, code-compliant install every time.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a 4-man crew through full mini-split/multi-zone heat pump installations daily
- Oversee line set runs, indoor unit mounting, condenser placement, and electrical connections
- Perform system startup, commissioning, and refrigerant charging
- Ensure all work meets NYC/LI building codes and company quality standards
- Interact professionally with homeowners throughout the job
- Coordinate material staging, equipment logistics, and daily job prep with your team
- Maintain job documentation: photos, startup sheets, warranty cards
- Mentor and develop junior installers and helpers on your crew
- Communicate job status and any issues to operations leadership
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of HVAC installation experience, with at least 2 years on mini-split / ductless systems
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- Proven experience leading or managing a crew on job sites
- Strong knowledge of Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, or comparable mini-split systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and equipment specs
- Comfortable with NYC/LI permit and inspection processes
- Valid driver’s license with clean record (company vehicle provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in clean, professional installs
- Strong communication with homeowners and management
Nice to Have
- Experience with NYSERDA, Con Edison Clean Heat, or PSEG rebate programs
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- NYC DOB permit-pulling experience
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary
$75,000–$90,000 depending on experience

Available and paid at 1.5x on qualifying hours
