American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and proficiency with respiratory support including mechanical ventilation.

13-week travel contract in a Level IV NICU, the second highest-level NICU in the state of Washington
-
70-bed NICU unit with a typical census of around 50 patients
-
Patient population includes premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)

NICU is part of a 152-bed Level II pediatric hospital with an attached high-risk labor and delivery unit

Private rooms in the NICU; Level II Nursery overflow (feeders/growers) also supported
-
Charting performed in Epic; experience required

12-hour day or night shifts (0700–1930 or 1900–0730), 36 hours per week

Every-other-weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible but rare

Floating to the ER as a sitter is possible but rare
-
No on-call requirements

Block scheduling possible

Active WA state RN license or compact license accepted (pending license with proof of application may be considered)

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Minimum 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience required

Proficiency with mechanical ventilation/respiratory support required

Experience with G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, and PICC lines required

Experience with medication administration and care planning required

Tracheostomy experience highly preferred but not required

Surgical NICU patient and HIE experience preferred

Epic EMR experience required

At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

First-time travelers will be considered, though travel nursing experience is strongly preferred

Any scrub color is acceptable
