Position: Project Engineer and Quality Data Coordinator
Position Responsibilities
- Reports to VP of Projects, and has supervision from Quality Systems Manager
- Full Project Engineering responsibility, including:
- -Review customer drawings & specifications to determine feasibility and optimal manufacturing process to achieve
- -Verify material & component requirements needed to support project, and communicate with Purchasing to properly procure
- -Establish internal instructions/documents to support manufacturing process
- -Establish project timing plans, and communicate to customer, along with updates to -customer throughout project progress
- -Verify project progress on floor throughput project timing
- -Problem solve with Operations team, including breaking timing constraints
- -Provide technical guidance to operators and support staff to assure products produced are compliant with requirements
- -Work with outside suppliers to support their applied processes
- -Establish & review non-conformances and leading disposition, both internally, and with customers
- Coordination and compilation of Quality Inspection/specification documents for various customers in various formats to comply with their requirements
- Continuous improvement/Optimization of the Internal processes used to generate inspection & quality data
- Responsible for working with Operations Team to establish the optimum Assembly processes to meet customer Product Requirement
- Developing, coordinating fabrication of, and applying various Fixtures & Equipment to conduct operations
- Performing through review and implementation of any Customer-driven revisions to products/requirements, consistent with internal revision control procedures
- Occasional external trips to visit suppliers and/or customers as needed
Skill Requirements
Required
- Knowledge of product drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of and experience in process controls
- High level of communication skills
- High level of organization and prioritized multitasking
- Team collaboration skills
- Problem solving experience
- Physical ability to move between various processing and inspection locations to observe and collect information
Desired
- Prior machined products and/or assembled products experience
- Prior experience with tight tolerance inspection and reporting
- Ability to pass background checks and qualify to handle CUI and EAR information for customers requiring same
- Material handling equipment & overhead cranes/forklift
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or equivalent
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- General operating hours, with occasional extended attendance into 2nd shift, as needed
- No weekends
