POSITION TITLE: TMS Technician

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager, Outpatient Psych
Job Summary: The TMS Technician works under the supervision of a physician, psychiatrist, or other qualified healthcare provider to administer TMS treatments, monitor patient safety and comfort, maintain treatment records, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service while fostering positive patient experience.
Essential Functions:

Prepares patients for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment sessions by reviewing procedures, verifying readiness, and ensuring patient comfort.

Positions patients appropriately and operates TMS equipment in accordance with provider orders and established treatment protocols.

Monitors patients throughout treatment sessions, identifies potential concerns or side effects, and promptly communicates findings to the supervising provider or clinical team.

Documents, accurately, treatment parameters, patient responses, observations, and any adverse events in the electronic medical record.

Educates patients and families regarding the TMS treatment process, expected outcomes, appointment schedules, and basic post-treatment considerations.

Maintains treatment schedules and coordinates appointments to promote efficient patient flow and continuity of care.

Performs routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and safety procedures to ensure proper operation of TMS devices.

Collaborates effectively with providers, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, and administrative personnel regarding patient progress, treatment adherence, and clinical concerns.

Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to all organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience in healthcare, mental health, patient care or medical assisting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation is preferred. Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols. Able to work under stressful situations and possess good oral and written communication skills. Ability to Participates in ongoing training, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives related to TMS services and behavioral health care.
Working Conditions: Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, talk/hear, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Frequently stand, walk, reach, push/pull, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, taste/smell, lift/carry 25 to 49 lbs.
