Culinary Arts Instructional Assistant
Pay: $24–$32 per hour
Join our Growing Futures Culinary Arts Program and help students build valuable culinary and workplace skills while working alongside our Culinary Arts Teacher.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with culinary classroom and kitchen instruction
- Support students during cooking, baking, food preparation, and food service activities
- Reinforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Prepare ingredients, equipment, and instructional materials
- Maintain a clean, organized commercial kitchen
- Implement student accommodations and behavioral support plans
- Monitor student engagement and participation
- Assist with inventory, grading, documentation, catering events, culinary competitions, and community-based learning opportunities
- Help ensure a safe learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
- Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Food Service experience preferred
- Experience working with adolescents and/or individuals with disabilities strongly preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler or Manager Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
