This is an opportunity for person with some Restaurant Supervisory experience to be groomed for a General Management position within Jersey Mike's, through a 12 month development program.
We are looking for an intelligent, self motivated person with a great, outgoing personality to start as a crew and help us mold into one of our next leaders.
Depending on how quickly you learn and demonstrate mastery of the Jersey Mike's principles will determine how long you spend at each step of the program.
Crew - Learn and master the stations: Sprinkle, Wrap, Slice and Grill sandwiches. Mastering includes both proper technique and speed of service. Build rapport with team mates and customers. Responsible for cleaning duties. Adhere to uniform and grooming requirements. Expected time frame 2-3 months. Requires: Food Handlers Certificate, Pass Menu Test. Pay: $10 - $13 per hour which includes tips.
Shift Lead - All the responsibilities of a crew member plus now run shifts efficiently, oversee and correct crew to ensure safety and proper sub making procedures being followed. Make perfect bread. Lead by example, proper procedures, speed of service, strong customer engagement. Good communication skills. Ability to properly perform open and closing responsibilities. Follow all safety protocols. Enforce company policy with crew. Demonstrate dependability and consistently strong performer. Demonstrate appreciation of profit & loss, through crew time management and food cost management. Expected time frame - 4 to 6 months. Prerequisites: Proficient Crew Member, Complete Jersey Mike's Online Training Program. Requires: Manager's Food Safety Certificate, Jersey Mike's Phase 1 Certification. Pay: $12 - $15 per hour which includes tips.
Assistant Manager - All the responsibilities of a Shift Lead plus assist the General Manager by taking responsibility for one or more of the following at a time. Demonstrate mastery and consistent high performance for each of these for at least 3 months.
- Create store schedules that balance great customer service, profitability and crew availability
- Placing Food & Paper orders: ensure store does not run out but also does not over order
- Training new employees and developing current. Reinforce proper technique with existing employees. Always working to improve overall speed of service at each position.
- Interviewing candidates
- Inventory Management, performing weekly inventory and reconciling. Identifying and resolving food cost issues.
- Store Maintenance: Overseeing cleaning and maintenance program for store.
- Customer Relations: Build relationships, be memorable, positively impact customer's day. Ability to identify and resolve most customer situations without escalation. Make situations better, not worse.
- Caterings: Ability to plan for, order and complete large caterings within reasonable time frame. (e.g. 75+ Box Lunches)
- Marketing. Participate in the business of a day program, identify catering opportunities
Prerequisite: Strong shift Lead, Jersey Mike's Phase 1 Certified, Manager's Food Safety Certificate, full time availability, ability to regularly work day and night shifts, and weekends.Flexible schedule. Have your own automobile, driver's License and insurance. Ability and willingness to cover shifts.
Requires: Jersey Mikes Phase 3 certification. Weekly Hours: 35-45. Expected time frame - 6 to 9 months. Pay: $14 - $17 per hour which includes tips.

- At least 18 years of age, to operate equipment
- Restaurant Supervisory Experience
- Must be reliable; which means showing up, ready to work, every scheduled shift
- Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers
- Extremely Professional Appearance
- Comfortable leading others
- Own, Reliable Transportation (No DWI / DUIs)
- No Criminal History in past 5 years.
- Able to work some nights and weekends; as you progress, more flexibility needed
- Ability to work non-stop, on your feet, for at least 4 hours without a break
- Move with sense of urgency. Speed-speed-speed
- Self starter, takes initiative without constant supervision
- Ability to work a 4 hour shift on your feet, without a break.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly lift 10 to 15 pounds
