Paralegal
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Pay: $30–$35/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys and assist with the efficient management of cases. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, organizational, and communication skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
· Assist attorneys with all phases of case preparation and management
· Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys
· Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, discovery documents, and other legal materials
· Prepare and organize documents for court filings, hearings, depositions, and trials
· Assist with discovery, including organizing documents, reviewing materials, and preparing discovery responses
· Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
· Monitor case deadlines, court dates, filing requirements, and other important deadlines
· Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, witnesses, and other parties
· Schedule depositions, hearings, meetings, mediations, and client appointments
· Assist attorneys with trial preparation and trial exhibits
· Prepare case summaries, timelines, chronologies, and other supporting materials
· Review and organize medical records, financial documents, contracts, correspondence, and other case-related materials as needed
· Assist with client intake and gathering information necessary for case development
· Prepare and submit documents through applicable court filing systems
· Assist with billing, timekeeping, and case-related administrative responsibilities
· Maintain strict confidentiality of client and case information
· Perform additional duties as assigned by attorneys or firm management
Qualifications
· Previous paralegal experience preferred
· Paralegal certificate required
· Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong legal research and writing abilities
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
· Familiarity with electronic court filing systems and legal case-management software preferred
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal staff
· Professional, dependable, and client-focused demeanor
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Required Experience
3-5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm, legal department, or related professional environment. Experience in litigation, personal injury, family law, real estate, corporate law, or another specialized practice area is required.
Compensation
$30–$35 per hour, negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and area of legal expertise.
