American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with IMPELLA and CRRT skills for a travel contract requiring Epic proficiency and a valid LA or Compact RN license.

ICU setting within a hospital environment
-
Patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional flex to 1:3
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
-
13-week contract
-
4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Float required to all ICUs and may include the ED or PACU to care for ICU-level patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with a 1:4 patient ratio

Epic EMR required
-
Equipment includes: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanners

Valid LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending not accepted)

Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required

IMPELLA experience required
-
CRRT/CVVHD experience required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS

Epic EMR experience required
-
Proficiency with IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
-
Ventilator management experience required, including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
-
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
-
Ability to perform phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and IV line starts
-
Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
-
At least two recent manager references required for consideration

Knowledge of N95 mask size required (facility sees COVID-19 and isolation patients)

Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
-
CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for a $100 fee
-
Expected to care for all isolation patients, including COVID-19, using appropriate PPE
-
Preferred skills include: ECMO, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, TAVR, post-cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, EVD and ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and neurological/neurosurgical patient management

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

RTO is limited to 5 days total for the duration of the contract

Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
-
Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
