Assistant Dog Trainer
Location: Watertown, MA
Pay: Starting at $18.00/hour with a pay increase after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
Tayls N Trails is looking for a motivated Assistant Dog Trainer to join our growing training team! This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some hands-on dog training experience and wants to continue learning while working with a variety of dogs every day. For the right person, this position has the potential to grow into a Lead Dog Trainer role.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- TBD but between the hours of 7am-7pm
- One weekend day every other weekend, as needed
- Full-time
What You'll Do
- Facilitate treadmill and agility sessions
- Practice daily skills with dogs
- Rotate dogs throughout the day
- Assist trainers with training programs
- Monitor dog behavior
- Maintain clean crates and training areas
- Ensure dogs have water and enrichment
- Assist Kennel Techs when needed
- Take dogs on structured hikes to reinforce training, improve pack skills, and provide exercise
- Drive company vehicles when needed to transport dogs to and from hikes or other training activities
