Duties
- Safely load and unload trucks using various material handling equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately
- Assist with order picking and packing processes to fulfill shipping and receiving requirements
- Conduct manual handling of materials, including heavy lifting, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Maintain organization of the warehouse by stacking pallets, sorting materials, and ensuring clear pathways for safe movement
- Support inventory management activities by conducting regular stock counts and verifying inventory accuracy
- Follow all safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation, manual handling, and warehouse operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar environment with knowledge of warehouse operations
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and RF scanners for order picking and shipping/receiving processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong understanding of safety protocols including OSHA regulations and mechanical knowledge for equipment operation
- Experience with materials handling techniques including manual handling and heavy lifting
- Construction or logistics experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment use
- Excellent physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks throughout the shift
