Mechanical Commissioner (1635666) - Summary:
This role supports commissioning projects for mechanical, plumbing, controls, and facility systems across new construction, renovation, existing building commissioning, and asset management work. The focus is leading functional performance testing, startup support, QA/QC checks, and documentation to confirm systems meet design and stakeholder expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of progressive commissioning experience with utility infrastructure, mechanical/plumbing systems, BAS/controls, facility systems/components, or facility O&M; mission critical experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, TAB processes, mechanical testing, and applicable code requirements.
Responsibilities
- Participate in office and field activities to support commissioning work for new construction, renovation, existing building, and asset management projects.
- Lead and perform QA/QC, functional performance testing, equipment/system startup, and verification activities.
- Help confirm mechanical/facility systems are safe, functional, and aligned with design requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Important Notes
- This role is based in Arlington, VA and is expected to be onsite Monday through Friday during standard daytime hours.
- Travel may be up to 50%, including multi-week field assignments and occasional longer-term project assignments.
