Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and supporting construction activities across diverse project sites. Your expertise will help ensure safety, efficiency, and quality in all operations. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, and graders, to support construction tasks
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material transportation to ensure smooth workflow
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to guarantee safe and optimal operation
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment
- Support other team members with manual labor tasks including erosion control, layout work, storm drain installation, water and sewer installations, grading, site cleanup, material handling, and setup of construction zones
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate daily activities and report any issues or hazards promptly
- Assist in the operation of specialized equipment such as Caterpillar machinery and tanker trucks for specific project needs
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, or dump trucks is highly preferred. Must be a versatile equipment operator and willing to spend time in the ditch. This job is hands on.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic maintenance procedures for heavy machinery
- Commercial construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational procedures
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus for operating certain vehicles like dump trucks or tanker trucks
- Hands-on experience with grading and earthwork, erosion control, storm drain, sanitary sewer, grease traps, and water service installations.
- Strong understanding of construction processes involving Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and productivity standards
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
