If you're into gaming, computers, or building things with your hands, this is a chance to turn that interest into a trade. Paradox Arcade Systems handcrafts arcade cabinets in Houston, and we're looking for a part-time assembler to join our small, close-knit team. This is hands-on work - hand tools, cable management, woodworking, electronics, quality checks - in a workshop environment where you'll see what you built walk out the door.
We also do 3D printing and UV printing in-house, and the right candidate may have the opportunity to learn and eventually operate this equipment.
This is real physical work in a working shop, not a desk job or a warehouse line. You'll be on your feet, lifting, and sometimes sweating in a non-air-conditioned space. You'll work with the same small team every day, following detailed build processes and taking real ownership of what you build. If you'd rather build something real than sit in front of a screen all day, you'll love it here.
What you'll do:
- Assemble arcade cabinet components using hand tools and machines
- Install and connect electronic components including speakers, LED lighting, and displays using cables such as HDMI, USB, and various power cables
- Identify and safely work with different cable types and voltages
- Manage and route wiring inside cabinets to spec
- Perform woodworking tasks as part of cabinet construction
- Operate printing and machining equipment and troubleshoot when necessary
- Perform quality control checks to ensure finished products meet our standards
- Assist with packaging, shrink wrapping, crating, and shipping prep
- Keep your work area clean and organized
- Communicate clearly with your team and supervisor - catching and flagging issues early is a big part of this role
What we're looking for:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed, multi-step instructions accurately
- Someone who asks questions when something is unclear rather than making assumptions
- Reliable, focused work ethic - this role involves working independently for stretches of time
- Comfortable with physical work - you'll lift up to 55 lbs and work in a warm, non-air-conditioned shop
- Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts and components
- Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with electronics connections - knowing the difference between an HDMI and a display port cable, or USB-A and USB-C cables, is a plus
- Skills in PC building, electronics repair, 3D printing, or similar hobbies are highly valued
- Prior hands-on, manufacturing, or electronics experience is a plus but not required if you're a fast learner who takes direction well
Schedule & Pay:
- Part-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm (flexible scheduling within operating hours)
- $15.00 per hour to start
- No weekend or holiday work required
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 55 lbs and perform physical labor
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Benefits:
- Employee discount on arcade products
- Opportunity to grow with a small company, including potential to train on advanced skills and equipment
- Referral bonus program
- Flexible scheduling within operating hours
Job Type: Part-time

Application Question(s):
- List any hand tools or power tools you have experience using, and briefly describe where you used them (job, hobby, etc.)
