Position Overview
Achieve Academy is seeking experienced Academic Strategists to guide students through long-term academic and extracurricular planning from middle school through high school. This role focuses on helping students build competitive, authentic, and well-balanced profiles that align with their academic interests and future career goals.
Academic Strategists serve as the primary advisor for each family, coordinating academic planning, enrichment opportunities, research projects, leadership development, competitions, and college readiness.
This is a 100% on-site role.
Responsibilities
- Develop personalized four-year academic roadmaps, including GPA planning, course selection, AP/IB/Honors recommendations, standardized testing timelines, and summer planning.
- Help students identify academic interests, intended majors, and long-term career goals.
- Recommend meaningful extracurricular activities, competitions, research opportunities, leadership experiences, internships, and community engagement.
- Coordinate with subject tutors, research mentors, portfolio instructors, essay specialists, and admissions consultants to ensure a unified admissions strategy.
- Conduct regular strategy meetings with students and parents to monitor progress and adjust goals.
- Track milestones, deadlines, and application readiness throughout high school.
- Stay current with college admissions trends, university expectations, and emerging educational opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in college counseling, academic advising, education consulting, or selective admissions.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with students and parents.
- Ability to manage multiple long-term student plans simultaneously.
- Passion for mentoring students and helping them achieve ambitious educational goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Common App, UC applications, and holistic admissions.
- Familiarity with AP, IB, Honors, dual enrollment, standardized testing, and competitive extracurricular planning.
- Experience working with high-achieving students targeting Top 30 universities.
Pay Range is based on several factors, including experience and qualifications.
Part Time Rate: $30-$70
Full Time: 65K-80K
