Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Drop Bury Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely installing, burying, boring under driveways/sidewalks and maintaining underground fiber optic and telecommunication cables. Your expertise will ensure the reliable delivery of high-speed internet, telephony, and network infrastructure services to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize heavy equipment, and develop specialized skills in telecommunications and construction. There is a lot of traveling between Ohio and Indiana. Must have a reliable vehicle that can trail a trailer. Pay is dependent on how many tickets you can complete, lots of opportunity to make as much as you want.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as vibratory plow and trenchers, spades and power tools to get telecommunications at proper depth.
- Install, splice, and maintain fiber optic cables with precision using fiber splicing techniques and hand tools.
- Bury underground cables according to locates and safety standards to ensure optimal network performance.
- Troubleshoot low voltage cuts such as invisible dog fences and simple plumbing for irrigation damages.
Skills
- Proven experience in field service operations within telecommunications or construction environments.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including vibratory plows, trenchers, and power tools.
- Skilled in fiber splicing and cabling techniques.
- Ability to interpret locates from 811.
