Kinder Kastle Childcare Learning Center is seeking a motivated, organized, and caring Administrative Assistant / Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our center while helping create a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for children, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the administrative leadership team, you will set a positive example for staff while serving as a professional representative of Kinder Kastle to current and prospective families.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a positive leader and role model for children, families, and staff.
- Support the Center Director with the daily operations of the center.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Kinder Kastle policies, procedures, and New Jersey childcare licensing regulations.
- Regularly visit classrooms to ensure quality, provide support to teachers, and maintain our high standards of care and education.
- Help supervise classroom staff and assist with scheduling, classroom coverage, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
- Conduct tours for prospective families, follow up with enrollment leads, and assist throughout the enrollment process.
- Build positive relationships with families by providing excellent customer service and addressing questions or concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, immunizations, medication logs, and all required licensing documentation.
- Monitor attendance and communicate with families regarding extended absences or important updates.
- Coordinate office operations, including ordering food, classroom materials, office supplies, and other center necessities.
- Prepare newsletters, lunch menus, calendars, flyers, reports, and family communications.
- Assist with planning and coordinating center events such as Open House, Graduation, Week of the Young Child, fundraisers, extracurricular programs, and other special events.
- Ensure the front office and lobby remain clean, organized, welcoming, and reflective of Kinder Kastle’s professional image.
- Support teachers by preparing classroom materials, organizing supplies, making copies, laminating, and assisting with administrative projects.
- Maintain confidentiality of all children, families, and employee information.
- Help ensure the center remains compliant with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the center.
Qualifications
- Previous childcare, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in a childcare leadership role is a plus.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and childcare management software.
- Must successfully complete all required New Jersey background clearances.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CDA, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
