Position Summary:
Reporting to the Electrical Group Lead, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for the coordination, development, and production of deliverables in support of the overall scope of electrical design. The Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
The position is in the Federal Buildings Group and the project type is majority industrial. The codes used include IBC, ABA, and Government Requirements.
The position is a hybrid position requiring office attendance at least two days per week. The position is in the Irvine office.
Responsibilities:
Prepare drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed
Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials
Support studio culture through mentoring, design development and other in-person activities.
Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions
Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures, and codes
Travel to project sites or client offices as needed to meet contract requirements.
Represents Jacobs, with internal and external personnel, on significant matters
Coordinate design with architects and other engineering disciplines
Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
Here's what you'll need
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates fluent in written and spoken English required
Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required
5+ years' Electrical design experience is required
Understanding of IBC and Accessibility Codes
Working knowledge of electrical building systems
Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
Self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environment
Ability to effectively meet deadlines
Ability to work as a collaborative member of a multi-discipline design team
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas both in person and in writing
Proficiency in REVIT
P.E. or on track for attaining P.E. (EIT preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excell
Industrial, Aerospace, Airport, and Laboratory experience is preferred
Federal design experience is preferred
Experience in lighting design is preferred.
Experience in lightning protection, security, and fire alarm system design is preferred

The base salary range for this position is $97,700.00 to $171,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
