Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Sign Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming design concepts and technical drawings into high-quality, durable signage products. Your expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and blueprint interpretation will ensure that each sign meets precise specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment.
- Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication dimensions.
- Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely to move heavy materials during fabrication processes.
- Assemble fabricated components into finished signage products with attention to detail, quality control, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety procedures related to metalworking, welding, and equipment operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or sign manufacturing within a shop environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, machining, and assembly.
- Ability to use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math confidently.
- Experience working on construction sites or industrial settings involving heavy equipment like cranes is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding, power tools, gas handling, and working with metal materials.
- Excellent hand tool skills along with the ability to operate power tools safely.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with basic math proficiency for precise fabrication tasks.
