Position 1: Lead Art Teacher (0.70 FTE)
Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional leadership for the 8th grade art through curriculum design, direct instruction, assessment,
and oversight of student learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain standards-aligned curriculum, unit plans, and daily lesson plans.
- Provide direct instruction to students three days per week.
- Develop and oversee all student art projects and performance tasks.
- Assess student work and maintain all grading responsibilities.
- Communicate with families regarding student progress, concerns, and celebrations.
- Monitor student achievement and adjust instruction as needed.
- Participate in professional development, department collaboration, and school-based initiatives.
- Provide direction and guidance to the Studio Lead regarding project expectations, pacing, and student
outcomes.
- Ensure continuity and quality of the school's Art program.
Position 2: Studio Lead (Two Days Per Week)
Primary Purpose:
Provide supervision and instructional support for students as they engage in art projects and learning
experiences designed by the Lead Art Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Art classes during designated Studio Lead days.
- Support students in completing projects and assignments developed by the Lead Art Teacher.
- Reinforce project expectations, classroom procedures, and routines.
- Monitor student engagement, behavior, and work completion.
- Provide feedback to the Lead Art Teacher regarding student progress and project completion.
- Maintain classroom organization, materials, and studio procedures.
- Ensure continuity of learning between direct instruction days and studio work days.
Responsibilities Specifically Not Included:
- Curriculum development
- Lesson planning
- Student grading
- Parent communication regarding academic performance
Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and valid Michigan teaching certification with endorsement in content area

Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis
