Veterinary Assistant – ER/Urgent Care

Veterinary Assistants support the medical team by assisting with patient care, maintaining accurate medical records, aiding in client and doctor communication, and helping maintain hospital cleanliness and organization.

You love the thrill of thinking on your feet and stepping in wherever you're needed. You communicate clearly and professionally with both teammates and clients. Patient care is your top priority, and you advocate for every pet as if they were your own.
You are willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed. Most shifts that need to be filled are swings, evenings, and weekends.
Positions Available:
We are currently hiring for:
- Part-Time Veterinary Assistants
- Contingent/Relief Veterinary Assistants
- Swing shifts (~4p-12a), Overnight shifts (~12a-8a) and/or Weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)
The nitty gritty details / must-haves
Must-Haves:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 18 years of age
- Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred (ER experience a plus!)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting and carrying animals up to 40 lbs
- Walking or standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to safely assist with patient restraint
Pay / Benefits:
- Starting wage: $17/hour (DOE)
- Shift differential for nights and weekends
