Help launch a brand new, high-tech dental clinic while providing 100% free care to those who need it most. Salt and Light Together, Inc.’s 501(c)(3) Dental Clinic seeks a Practice Administrator to oversee the dental clinic’s daily operations, serving Tarrant County's underserved populations. Founded in 2001 by members of First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth, the clinic was created to meet a critical gap in access to dental care for neighbors experiencing homelessness, low income, or no insurance.
With the support of a generous donor, the clinic will reopen in 2026 following a full renovation as a modern, high-tech, comprehensive, and no-cost dental outreach clinic. This role offers a rare opportunity to help launch and shape a new clinic from the ground up, combining clinical practice with mission-driven work, and restoring health and dignity one smile at a time. This position is full-time, 40 hours, typically Monday – Friday and 1 Saturday a month. Dental clinics are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and one Saturday a month 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

- Assist in developing and ensuring compliance with clinic protocols, standard operating procedures, infection control standards, OSHA, and state and federal regulations; responsible for the implementation and proper application as established by federal and state regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with leadership and committees to plan and operationalize a newly renovated dental clinic
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of clinic staff (2 RDAs, 1 RDH, 1 receptionist) in partnership with the dentist and HR
- Partner closely with the dentist to align clinical and operational priorities
- Manage daily clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, staffing coverage, and front office procedures
- Ensure clinic processes support high‑quality efficient, and compliant patient care
- Directly supervise clinic staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, training, and performance management
- Support and coach dental staff and volunteers to ensure consistent, compassionate, and skilled care aligned with the ministry’s mission
- Foster a collaborative, team-based, patient-centered culture
- Support clinical workflows and resolve operational challenges in real time
- Provide occasional chair-side or direct patient care as needed
- Coordinate and manage administrative functions, including records management, purchasing, reporting, budgeting, and vendor relationships
- Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure patients and families are treated with dignity, trauma‑informed sensitivity, and respect, particularly those experiencing homelessness or low income
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with staff, committees, and volunteers to support a positive, collaborative, team-based, patient-centered culture
- Ensure and coordinate efficient scheduling, patient flow, and front office operations
- Manage compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations
- Stay current with dental regulations, trends, legislation, and best practices and ensure timely application within the clinic
- Assist with and coordinate patient care, including interacting face-to-face with patients/families, staff, and others
- Oversee supplies and equipment maintenance to maintain a fully functioning clinic
- Partner with Communications for marketing efforts
- Contribute to the overall success of the dental ministry by performing additional duties as assigned
Essential Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Dentistry-related required
- Minimum of 7 years of healthcare practice management experience, preferably in dental administration
- CPR & Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications (or ability to obtain)
- At least 2 years of experience in leadership and supervising direct reports
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly excel); experience with Archy dental software preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and experience serving underserved populations highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of dental practice operations, including scheduling, patient flow, billing, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement to resolve operational and patient-related issues
- Proven ability to manage clinic staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management
- Demonstrated financial and administrative skills, including budgeting, purchasing, grant funding requirements, and reporting
- Commitment to serving low-income and underserved populations with cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to exhibit compassion while maintaining compliance with established rules, procedures, and protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) with diverse audiences and adapt communication style as needed; bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Knowledge of public health issues and awareness of cultural, social, and economic factors that impact patient care
- Ability to engage in problem resolution, assess the situation objectively, and potentially manage unexpected emergent situations with composure

- Constant movement throughout building and dental clinic and ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, twist, squat, push/pull, and move up to 25 pounds regularly
- This position must be able to gather and organize information and close visual acuity is required to perform activities, such as reading, preparing and analyzing data, proofreading, general hazard identification, counting, and overall assessment of environment
- Must hear with aid, effectively converse with stakeholders in English (and preferably Spanish), and respond quickly to sounds or emergency situations in potentially noisy environments
- Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materials
- Ability to manage workplace stressors such as complaints, emergent situations, loud noises, or competing priorities while maintaining the safety/security of people
- Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules, including occasional evenings and Saturdays
- Ability to work in a setting serving patients with complex medical, behavioral, or mobility challenges, which may require patience, adaptability, and occasional physical assistance (within appropriate safety limits)

Salt and Light’s Dental Clinic was initiated by members of First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth when they noticed the lack of accessible or free dental care in our community. Since our founding, we’ve provided free essential dental care to thousands of neighbors in need, breaking down barriers to accessing quality dental services. Our work continues to grow thanks to a generous donor and in 2026, we are undergoing renovations and will reopen as a high-tech comprehensive and free dental clinic for those in need.

Benefits for You:
Pay is determined by previous qualifications, market data, and internal equity and begins at $80,000 per year, paid on a semi-monthly basis.
