Job Title: Supervising Physician (M.D./D.O.)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Practice Development Manager
Location: On-site in Urgent Care
Schedule: Varying shifts of up to twelve (12) to fourteen (14) hours. Days, evenings, weekends and holidays required.
Job Summary: The Supervising Physician will provide high-quality medical care to pediatric and adult patients while overseeing and collaborating with Physician Assistants and clinical staff. The Supervising Physician will practice in a fast-paced urgent care environment, demonstrating strong leadership skills, and maintaining excellent clinical judgment and bedside manner.
FLSA STATUS: This position is a non-exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act; thus, it is eligible to receive overtime compensation, as appropriate. Overtime requires prior approval from the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute illnesses and minor injuries
- Supervise and collaborate with Physician Assistants and clinical staff
- Evaluate and treat pediatric and adult patients 4 months and older
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, incision & drainage, wound care and IVs
- Manage orthopedic injuries and occupational medicine cases, work-related injury evaluations and, DOT/CDL exams
- Interpret EKGs and X-rays
- Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Practice evidence-based medicine and follow established clinical care standards
- Provide guidance regarding complex medical cases, referrals, and escalation of care when necessary
- Ability to perform immigration physicals (applicable to Civil Surgeons only)
- Demonstrate excellent bedside manner
- Required to be Supervising Physician to APP’s
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- · M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
- · Licensed to practice medicine in the applicable state
- · Board Certified or Board Eligible in: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- · Active DEA license to be actively maintained throughout employment
- · DOT Certification to be actively maintained throughout employment
- · BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification required
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
- · Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred
- · Comfortable treating patients ages four (4) months and older
- · Strong procedural skills including suturing, splinting, incision & drainage and IVs
- · Proficiency in reading EKGs and X-rays
- · Excellent communication, leadership, and patient satisfaction skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- · Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- · Ability to push or pull in order to safely perform essential job duties
- · Ability to bend and twist repetitively
- · Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

Pay: $135.00 - $155.00 per hour
