Basic Function:
Professionally and effectively coordinate all domestic and international shipments ensuring they meet customer specifications and arrive at their destination damage-free on time. Process accurate and timely inventory receiving transactions and coordinate the daily flow of product and supplies from Receiving to Receiving inspection in support of Company Objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Shipping Responsibilities:
1. Ensure accurate processing of all outgoing shipments according to customer specifications, including:
- Assure that packaging is adequate to arrive at the destination undamaged.
- Assure that all paperwork is correct and matches the items to be shipped.
- Process Shipment documentation (Carrier, method, labels per SP-26, Bills of Lading, Export Papers, Certificate of Conformance’s(C of C’s) and other customer-specific labels and paperwork, Advance Shipment Notifications (ASNs), etc.)
- Assure that all required Shipment documentation accompanies shipment and is appropriately attached to the shipment package, carton or crate.
- Enter Shipment transactions into Business Systems.
- Take digital photos to record shipment conditions before leaving facilities.
- Schedule pickup for all small package, Truck Load (TL), Less Than Truck Load (LTL), and container shipments.
- Arrange pickup of international freight through customer-specified freight forwarders.
- Coordinate schedule of inbound containers.
2. Work closely with Customer Service to provide Shipment status and tracking information, quote preparation, including estimates on weight, container size, quantity, etc.
Receiving Responsibilities:
1. Receive all incoming shipments; Visually inspecting the packaging for damage and reviewing paperwork for accuracy before acceptance. Take pictures to document damage thoroughly and report discrepancies.
2. Examine and unpack incoming shipments; Count contents of incoming shipments to verify information against invoices, packing slips, material certifications, safety data sheets, bills of lading or other documents. Record shortages and non-conformances.
3. Process all Receiving functions in Business System and other specific duties and responsibilities of Receiving according to procedure SM-18.
4. Provide support in reconciling packing slips to Invoices and Purchase Orders with Purchasing and Accounting as needed.
5. Works closely with Supply Chain and department Managers on the status of overdue parts and expedites accordingly upon arrival while communicating status and concerns to appropriate department leaders or managers.
6. Supports the Replenishment system by delivering received inventory or supplies into their proper locations with proper identification / WIP tags. Rotate stock, magnets, and bins as required while maintaining material lot control. Identify Date of Expiration (DOE) and effectively rotate products by using the First in First Out (FIFO) method.
7. When necessary coordinate activities with Quality and Shipping to meet requirements of schedule.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Provide backup for leading daily Shipping meetings to coordinate necessary activities with Quality, Operations, Inventory / Material Coordinators to ensure requirements of daily shipping schedule are met.
2. Safeguards material during transportation and storage, ensuring clean and free of damage.
3. Operates pallet jack and/or forklift to unload, transport, and load parts.
4. Helps to maintain TATS supplies and cabinets.
5. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area and observes all safety rules and procedures.
6. Perform all other duties as assigned in support of overall company objectives.
Experience:
1. 2+ years prior Shipping experience, including International shipments, LTL/TL
2. 2+ years of Inventory Control or Receiving experience
3. Experience with UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager.

Education/Training:
Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Position Reports to: Shipping/Warehouse Group Leader
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
