Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) is a nationally recognized orthopedic practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care across multiple locations throughout Southern California.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to join our Facilities team. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this individual will work alongside an experienced facilities leader with more than 25 years of institutional knowledge while preparing to assume increasing leadership responsibilities as part of SCOI’s long-term succession planning strategy. Will be required to travel to all SCOI locations on a regular basis and will be based, onsite, at our Van Nuys location.

Position Summary
Senior Facilities Manager will assist in leading facilities operations across SCOI’s multi-site healthcare network. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Director of Facilities to gain comprehensive knowledge of the department while progressively assuming greater responsibility for facility operations, extensive vendor management responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and capital projects.
This role requires regular/frequent travel to all SCOI locations, including Bakersfield, to ensure consistent operational standards and provide onsite leadership and support. Must oversee successful and timely completion of projects and manage vendors within strict parameters and timely completion and delivery of services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Facilities to oversee facilities operations across multiple SCOI locations.
- Take initiative in performing daily walk through and inspections of sites.
- Address and timely resolve any project delays.
- Travel regularly to all SCOI facilities, including Bakersfield, to evaluate building conditions, support site leaders, oversee projects, coordinate vendors, and ensure operational consistency.
- Manage facility maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
- Manager and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers. Strong negotiation for best pricing and project bidding.
- Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Assist with facilities budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, ADA, fire/life safety, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Building safety management.
- Develop standardized operating procedures and best practices across all facilities.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Clinical Leadership on organizational initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the employee and patient experience.
- Prepare to assume progressively greater leadership responsibility through SCOI’s succession planning process.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12–24 months, you will:
- Develop trusted relationships with physicians, executives, managers, and frontline staff.
- Learn all aspects of SCOI’s facilities operations.
- Improve vendor performance and accountability.
- Strengthen preventive maintenance and regulatory readiness.
- Standardize facilities processes across multiple locations.
- Position yourself to successfully transition into future leadership of the Facilities Department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Healthcare facilities experience preferred but not required.
- Five or more years of progressive facilities management leadership experience.
- Multi-site facilities management experience required; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Over five years of hands-on experience managing capital projects, operating budgets, and vendor contracts.
- Over five years using management software to ensure timely responses and management to vendor contracts, agreements, and service maintenance cycles.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, life safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leaders across the organization.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Will be required to walk, sit, stand frequently.
Travel Requirements
- Regular travel is required to all SCOI locations, including routine travel to Bakersfield.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to travel independently between multiple locations as business needs require.

In accordance with California pay transparency guidelines, the posted salary range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant industry experience in healthcare operations, leadership experience, education, and overall qualifications.
Pay: $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
