Dental Assistant — Part-Time (Brand-New Practice!)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our brand-new dental practice from the ground up. In this vital role, you will support our doctors chairside and help create an exceptional experience for patients of all ages. Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance across general dentistry, including restorations, extractions, implants, endodontics (root canals), and other procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms, set up instruments and materials, and ensure each operatory is ready before patient arrival.
- Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral scans as directed.
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization standards, adhering to all OSHA and safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist with patient comfort, chairside education, and post-operative instructions.
- Accurately document in dental practice management software (we use Open Dental) and help maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Manage instrument sterilization, supply stocking, and operatory turnover between patients.
- Support the team in building efficient clinical workflows and protocols as we open and grow.
Requirements
- X-ray certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Dental assisting experience a plus — but we’re happy to train the right motivated person.
- Strong understanding of infection control and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine, patient-first attitude.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a startup environment.
- Team player excited to help build a practice from the ground up.
