American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Work in the Telemetry unit of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
-
Telemetry/Step-Down patient population with 1:4-5 patient ratios
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
-
13-week contract length is firm
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active MO or compact RN license required (pending IL license accepted with note)

Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
-
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
-
EKG and cardiac drip management experience required
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Must be able to accommodate facial hair for proper respirator fit testing or be willing to shave

Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
-
Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care and management
-
Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and oxygen administration
-
Care for patients with renal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and endocrine conditions
-
Navy blue scrubs required

No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment

Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted

Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
-
Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
