Reports to CFO
Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Clerk will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Performs general bookkeeping duties including identifying, organizing, recording, and reconciling transactions.

Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements; maintains the general ledger.

Manages the full accounts payable process, including receiving, coding, and entering invoices into the accounting software.

Reconciles bank accounts, cash disbursements, credit card statements, petty cash, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts monthly.

Manages accounts receivable collections and reconcile aging reports to the balance sheet.

Verifies and processes payments, ensuring they are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Reviews invoices and credit memos for accuracy, proper documentation, approval, and sales tax exemption status.

Maintains organized records, including accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, corporate card transactions, and SharePoint files.

Provides assistance to outside auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents.

Prepares internal ad hoc reports while looking for ways to automate or improve efficiency.

Maintain and recommend improvements to accounting systems or other technology systems.

Manages purchasing and invoicing systems.

Prepare financial analysis of accounts and create reports as required.

Updates financial spreadsheets and maintains organized digital records.

Provides administrative support during finance meetings.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.

At least three years of related experience required. Cannabis experience preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Strong proficiency working with large data sets, including advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
