Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for the energy industry? We're seeking a dynamic and skilled Permanent Interim Accounting Director to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to our company’s financial health and growth. You will be a key player in the management of our financial operations, providing leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company.
Responsibilities:
As our Interim Accounting Director, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing daily operations of the corporate accounting department.
2. Directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
3. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
4. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
5. Coordinating activities of external auditors.
6. Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
7. Managing the budget process.
8. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
9. Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
10. Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
11. Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
12. Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
13. Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting with a proven track record of success.
3. Proficiency in Oracle or similar financial software.
4. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence—ability to train and manage staff.
5. Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
6. Significant experience in the energy industry.
7. Thorough knowledge of corporate accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Impeccable attention to detail.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
