Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple locations. This role focuses on transactional accounting, financial reporting support, internal reconciliations, and business operations support, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a multi-store environment.
This position works closely with Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams to support daily business operations and provide on-site financial support across multiple West Coast locations.
The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, excellent numerical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, general ledger entries, expense tracking, cash receipts, check processing, bank deposits, and payment processing.
- Handle intercompany transactions, internal settlements, account reconciliations, bookkeeping, and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and maintain store-level and consolidated financial reports, including sales, collections, accounts receivable, and other operational reports for management review.
- Coordinate with customers, Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams to support accounts receivable reconciliations, timely collections, credit management, and customer order release processes based on payment and credit status.
- Maintain customer accounts and payment status in the ERP/accounting system, assist with credit insurance administration, monitor credit risk, and ensure compliance with company policies and tax requirements.
- Support after-sales financial activities, including returns, refunds, product replacements, customer claims, disputes, and related documentation.
- Assist with monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and coordination with the General Ledger accounting function.
- Support payment application reviews, external audits, sales tax reporting, inventory reconciliations, physical inventory counts, and other accounting compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Warehouse teams across multiple locations, to support daily business operations.
- Perform other accounting, operational, and system-related support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on accounting or finance experience. Candidates with strong practical experience and less tenure are encouraged to apply.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is required to support communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and bilingual documentation.
- Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience in a retail or multi-location environment is a plus.
- Adaptability: Willingness to support additional tasks as assigned in a dynamic environment.
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
