American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ER experience, with night shift availability and a GA or compact RN license.

Emergency Department setting with 46 rooms and an average daily census of 135 patients
-
Patient population spans infants to geriatrics
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating may be required, including to a sister campus
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Charting via Epic; Pyxis medication dispensing system used; SBAR communication format
-
12-week contract
-
Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
-
Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience required

General ER experience required

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Navy blue scrubs required

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week

If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them and no holiday RTO will be approved; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests will be considered; the posted night shift schedule is firm

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
