Recovery Coach

Position Overview
Riverbend is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to provide peer-to-peer support for individuals on their recovery journey. This non-clinical role uses lived experience, mentorship, advocacy, and strength-based coaching to help recoverees achieve their goals and build sustainable recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in developing and achieving recovery goals.
- Assist recoverees in creating and following Recovery Action Plans.
- Connect recoverees with community resources, treatment services, and peer support programs.
- Provide mentoring, emotional support, and encouragement.
- Advocate for recoverees and help build self-advocacy skills.
- Collaborate with community partners and service providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress notes.
- Promote and support all pathways of recovery.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to complete (or current completion of) CCAR Recovery Coach Academy training.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a CORI background check.
Preferred
- Lived experience with substance use disorder and recovery.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery and local recovery resources.
- Strong communication, active listening, and motivational interviewing skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Occasional weekends as needed
- Up to 50% local travel preferred
